Doctor Michael Jackson, MD, FAAFP
Dr. Jackson has been practicing medicine for over 30 years. He received his medical degree in 1983 from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Following medical school, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. At the Medical University of South Carolina, he was an Associate Professor of Family Medicine from 1998 to 2004. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, and the Medical Association of Georgia.
Dr. Jackson was recognized by the Rome News Tribune Reader's Choice Award as Rome’s “Best Family Doctor" in 2013. Other awards include Patient's Choice Award from Vitals.com in 2011, 2012 & 2013 and Most Compassionate Doctor Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 from Vitals.com.
Dr. Jackson's medical clinic, APEX Direct Care, PC is physician-owned and operated. This lets our medical team provide each patient an exceptional level of care and attention. Being a direct primary care practice allows Dr. Jackson to spend the necessary time with patients to help them look and feel their best without the outside interference from insurance companies or the Government.
He has practiced medicine and lived in Rome for over ten years. He and his wife Jamie, have been married for over 30 years and have three grown sons and two lovely daughter-in-laws. Dr. Jackson and Jamie are active members in their church, the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, and the Coosa River Basin Initiative.
